The Northeast Texas Chapter of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) was founded in 1964 with Cedric Wilson as its first President. Today the Chapter has over 200 members and is active on both a local and national level. For the last 20 years, the Northeast Texas Chapter (NETX) has earned ACI's highest award, the Outstanding Chapter Award. An overview of the area served by NETX can be viewed on this map.
Our Chapter conducts meetings in January, March, May, July, and September, with our annual Awards Banquet in November. Meetings are typically held the third Thursday of the month at Ellison Miles Geotechnical Institute (EMGI), Brookhaven College, Dallas.
The Northeast Texas Chapter also conducts ACI Certification exams, seminars and our own Short Course. In addition, we also sponsor a scholarship for an Engineering Student at the University of Texas at Arlington and Southern Methodist Univerisity, Dallas.
We encourage you to join our chapter. You will receive a bi-monthly newsletter, The Matrix, and be eligible to use our Chapter Library.
The Northeast Texas Chapter again hosts a national ACI convention on March 18-22, 2012. Planning is underway and there are plenty of opportunities for members and other volunteers to get involved. Details coming soon to this website and the Matrix.
